My last post was on connecting women with women to create change…
and then I read Chris Owen’s blog on Bad Apples, where she talks about women being bullied and how insidious that can be – especially when the bully is another woman. If you haven’t found Chris yet – her blog Take A Bite is all about relationships (plus other interesting stuff), and well worth checking out!
…her last paragraph really hit a chord with me, and seemed to tie in so well with what I have been talking about…
"Confidence comes from taking action. If support isn’t readily available from those you thought you could trust, keep telling!
The best defence against a bully is to disclose
their behaviour. It’s also one of the hardest steps to take when
you’ve been so undermined that you begin to disbelieve even the
messages from your own body.
Keep telling, till someone listens, and you get the help you want."
In other words – connect, woman, connect!!! When we try to deal with problems on our own, they can seem totally insurmountable. Then we talk to someone, and all of a sudden it doesn’t seem so bad.
