School Holiday Resources

July 5th, 2005 · No Comments

School has resumed today in Queensland (hooray!!!), but in other states of Australia the fun is just beginning.

School holidays can be a real challenge for parents (and most especially Mums) who work outside the home.  With only 4 weeks annual leave in most employment situations in Australia, that leaves a lot of weeks where you cannot be home (or away) with your children when they are on holidays.

The NSW Department of Community Services has a great resource for busy parents on their website – a parent winter school holiday survival kit.  This includes great articles not only on school holiday activities, but also on TV, and the internet, and on leaving your children home alone.  Check it out!

I will be searching for further resources, tips and brilliant ideas for surviving the school holidays – please let me know how you cope, and we will continue this discussion in future posts.
