Show up and you are half way there…

August 31st, 2005 · 1 Comment

I was catching up on some blog reading tonight, and noticed a thought provoking piece by David St Lawrence over at Ripples.  He says "I am beginning to suspect that in a business which develops repeat
customers, sometimes I can do more than I realize, just by showing up
on a schedule

Isnt that so true though?  Show up and you are more than half way there.  In a business – show up for your clients consistently and they will trust that you will be there when they need you or are ready to buy what you are offering.

and then…

Show up to the gym regularly and consistently and you are three quarters of the way to becoming fit (yup – really)

Show up in a relationship, (and I mean really show up) and the relationship has a 95% chance of success

Show up to the job, and you should get paid

Show up for your kids – be there, right through their childhood – and the level of trust between you will be strong

Show up for your commitments – dont pike out – and they will live to see another day

Show up for your health appointments (doctor and dentist checkups, etc) and your body will be in a winning position

Show up for your friends when they need you, and you will be rewarded with strong, resilient friendships

And David, may I say, show up in your blog posts week after week, always giving the same high quality, thoughtful insights – and people will keep coming back for more…

    Thanks for the nice comment!
    I enjoy your writing.

After I had written my original post, my discovery seemed so obvious that I couldn’t believe I had missed it before, but it took actual experiential data to make it real to me.

I just received notice of the trackback (9/9/05) for your 8/30/05 post. Is there a time warp that I don’t know about?
