The children are all back at school. It is almost time for me to take up the reins again. Getting back in the saddle this year has been fairly painless as we were all really relaxed and refreshed by our week up the coast last week.
Isnt it interesting how when you are the most relaxed (and least uptight), things tend to go smoothest? How even when unexpected things crop up, we cope with them a heck of a lot better than when we are frazzled. I am again reminded of the need to keep things on an even keel in my household so that I cope better, which in turn leads to everyone else being happier and calmer. Win win all round.
So that is my primary intention this year. Keep Mum happy so that the rest of the family is happy.
Which is the total opposite to my natural wiring.
You know how normally women (especially mothers) are the best martyrs around? They put everyone else’s needs and wants way ahead of their own – often so much so that they dont even remember what they personally needed and wanted for themselves?
Unfortunately, it doesnt work that way.
So will you join with me in making yourself a top priority this year – so that we are better able to cope with all those curve balls that life seems to delight in throwing at us? Calmly and with ease.
