Leah has challenged me to share why I blog. It was too big an answer to leave in a comment on her post. So here are some of my thoughts about why I write a blog…
It started out because Leah challenged me to write a blog. Only, the writing isn’t really a challenge for me, because I love to write. What was challenging, however, was writing to be read by people I didn’t know (okay) and by people I did know (scary!!).
Once I’d got over those initial challenges, and found that I could write from my heart and that people did like to read what I had written (not in their millions, but little by little, my readership has grown…) the ‘why’ of my blogging changed. No longer satisfied with simply getting stuff up there, I started reading other blogs. And met amazing people online that I would never have known otherwise – now I have friends all over the world!
Last month, April 2007, was the two year anniversary of The Clearing Space blog. The anniversary came and went without any fanfare, as we were in the middle of other things… but I did mark it with a glass of champagne and a renewed commitment to bring calm, tranquility and a touch of serenity to all who visit here.
I write this blog for my readers, for they sustain me. I write this blog for all the women out there who don’t want to live in chaos anymore. I write this blog for me, as my way of expressing what is in my heart. I write this blog in the hope that something I say will light a beacon for another soul, and help them find their way. I write this blog for the blogging community, for all the support and care and heart you give to us all.
And I write this blog for you. You are phenomenal, and I thank you.
